Would it be better to writer Chinese words in Hiragana style?
In recent years, PC or smartphones have equipped a function of auto conversion to Kanji, so people always use that auto converted kanji even though it would be better to write those word in Hiragana.
Japanese is “A type of writing that mixes both Kanji and Hiragana”. In addition, when expressing foreign words, use Katakana. It is a richly expressive language that uses both Hiragana and Katakana – onomatopoeia and Kanji – as ideograms.
In Vietnam, there are classes to teach Chinese word, but there is almost no teaching “How to identify the situation to write in Kanji or to write in Hiragana”. As a result, sentences translated by Vietnamese often use a lot of kanji, it makes Japanese find it unreadable, imbalanced in the paragraph as well as the unnatural in sentence.
For use of Hiragana instead of Kanji, basically including 3 types:
- Kanji word are not in common use Chinese word list
When typing “あるいは” and “ほとんど” on PC or smartphone, that word will be changed into “或いは” and “殆ど”. But “或” and “殆” are not Kanji words recorded in common use Chinese word list. - Pronunciation is not recorded in common use Chinese word list
When typing “おおむね”, it will change into “概ね”. “概” is a word recorded in common use Chinese word list. “がい” has recorded in this list but “おおむ” is not recorded. - Words written in Hiragana make it more natural
There is nothing wrong in common use Chinese word list because it often shows both Chinese words and pronunciation. However, most of Japanese write in Hiragana, so writing in Hiragana will make it more appropriate.
